In the Know, Vol. 30: Exploring How We See God
When we explore theology in the context of a mentoring group, we’re talking about who God is and how we see Him. As I’m leading my current mentoring group, I have been thinking and learning about the character of God, and it’s helping me see Him through a new lens. It’s also reminded me why we cover the topic of Theology towards the beginning of Known Collective’s recommended mentoring plans.
The resources below have challenged and refined my view of God. None Like Him by Jen Wilkin has left me completely mind blown while still offering gentle comfort. She has much to teach in 170+ pages, but there is space at the end of each chapter to unpack what you’ve read, which is really helpful. And the podcast referenced below on holiness makes a great companion to the book.
It’s no secret how much I love She Reads Truth. Their studies are beautifully curated and make reading the Bible every day so easy and intentional. If you aren’t familiar with She Reads Truth, check out their website for free devotional content or try the 5-day reading plan linked below.
If you haven’t yet explored the topic of theology with your mentees, I encourage you to do so sooner than later. It’s an excellent refresher for longtime Jesus-followers and can be a game-changer for mentees looking to go deeper in their understanding of who God is.
